DZ Equity Partner and WGZ merge PE operations
German GPs DZ Equity Partner and WGZ Initiativkapital have combined their private equity operations to become vR Equity Partners.
Peter Sachse and Martin Völker will head the new firm. The firm's board will seat five representatives made up of members of both former firms, headed by Hans-Theo Macke. The firm's head-office will be based in Frankfurt with further offices in Münster and Vienna.
vR will continue to focus on providing capital for customers of the co-operative banking group, but will fund additional SME businesses with a minimum turnover of €20m.
The combined firms have €570m assets under management making it one of the biggest private equity players in the German SME sector.
