Heuking appoints new partner
Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek has appointed Dr Peter Schmidt as new partner for its Hamburg office.
Schmidt joins the law office from Watson Farley & Williams where he was heading the German private equity practice. His area of responsibility included advising o mid-size private equity transactions as well as mittelstand M&A deals. His clients range from private equity and venture capital funds to strategic investors, family offices, investment clubs as well as management teams.
During his early career Schmidt has worked for Andersen Luther and Alpers & Stenger. In July 2002 he joined Wegener Bechtel Gosselke, a spin-off from Alpers & Stenger, after previously having worked in the Cologne office of Norton Rose Vieregge. At the time Wegener was merged with UK law firm Watson Farley & Williams, Schmidt was one of the four partners at the company.
