Wellington's Readmill bought by Dropbox
German social reading platform Readmill, backed by Wellington Partners in June 2012, has been absorbed by Dropbox.
The company made the announcement on its site, stating that the Readmill app will not be available from 1 July. The team will be joining Dropbox.
The private equity firm took part in a series-A funding round alongside Passion Capital and Index Ventures, according to unquote" data. Website TechCrunch has put forward the figure of €8m as an estimated acquisition price for the Dropbox deal. Wellington Partners was unavailable for comment at this time.
Based in Berlin, Readmill was founded by Henrik Berggren and David Kjelkerud in 2011. It had 10 members of staff.
