Halder appoints new executive chairman

Halder Beteiligungsberatung has appointed Hanns Ostmeier as executive chairman in the firm's Frankfurt office.
Ostmeier will also become a shareholder in Halder as part of his appointment. He joins from his role as president of German private equity trade body BVK, which he joined as a management board member in 2007.
Ostmeier previously worked as senior managing director at Blackstone Group, in charge of the firm's German business from 2003 to 2007. Before that he was with BC Partners, latterly as senior partner.
Ostmeier will also join Halder's investment committee and contribute to the partnership's growth strategy and development, which he believes will see significant upturn in the coming years. "Private equity will become ever more important to small-to-medium enterprises in the years ahead," he said in a statement.
Halder became independent in March this year, after a period of partnering with Euronext Brussels-listed Gimv Group. Originally established in 1988 as an independent firm, Halder became part of Gimv upon the founders' exit in 2000. While in partnership with the Belgian investor, the German team, which focused on SME investments, established its own management company.
Halder has completed 33 investments in SMEs to date, providing equity capital for ownership succession and international growth. The firm currently manages a €325m fund holding four investments.
