Hannover Finanz backs MBO of Media Concept
Private equity house Hannover Finanz has led the buyout of online retailer Media Concept together with BayernLB Private Equity.
The private equity companies have acquired a 63% stake. The transaction was an all-equity investment, which will be used for an expansion into other European markets. Sebastian Köhler will replace founder and shareholder Dieter Büchl in the management team, while Andreas Gebauer will remain in his position as CEO.
Media Concept was founded in 2002 and is based in Hohenbrunn, Germany. The company is an online retail specialist for ink cartridges and toner. The products are sold to private and business customers and distributed through several online shops. The printer equipment distributor had a turnover of around €80m in 2010.
