Apax bids for Utimaco Safeware
Apax Partners has bid €17.10 per share for Utimaco Safeware AG using its shell company Shield Bidco Limited.
It hopes to take over all shares in the company. The acceptance period will take place from 27 June 2010 to 27 July 2010.
Founded in 1983 and headquartered in Oberursel, Germany, Utimaco specializes in information security software. Originally known as uti-maco software GmbH, in 1994 the company changed its name to Utimaco Safeware AG. It was acquired by Sophos in 2008 and was listed in 2009.
