Ex-Earlybird partner O'Leary launches new VC
Former Earlybird partner Ciarán O'Leary has raised $120m for his new VC BlueYard Capital.
O'Leary founded the new venture capital firm, which will focus on early-stage investments, together with Jason Whitmire, who also worked for Earlybird previously. O'Leary had worked for the VC since January 2009, while his partner joined in August 2010.
Chad Fowler will join as venture partner. He is a general manager of Wunderlist, a company that was backed by Earlybird in May 2012 and exited to Microsoft last summer.
BlueYard's vehicle is based in Berlin and will invest in technology startups across Europe.
