Bärenfänger to join Avedon from HgCapital
Julian Bärenfänger has left HgCapital, where he worked as an associate director in the firm's UK operations, to join growth investor Avedon’s German office as a partner.
Avedon is currently building its German team. Bärenfänger, who joined the company on Monday, is the office's second partner, alongside Hannes Hinteregger. Alexis Weege joined as investment manager and Christian Thielemann as associate, with a further associate hire following later this year.
Bärenfänger joined HgCapital in 2007, starting as an associate. Since 2009, he was a director with the healthcare investment team. His decision to leave the company was a result of HgCapital's retreat from the healthcare sector, Avedon stated.
Prior to working with HgCapital, Bärenfänger worked as an analyst with Lehman Brothers for two years.
