HTGF backs contaminant detectors business Bentekk
German measurement technology developer Bentekk has raised a six-figure seed round from High-Tech Gründerfonds (HTGF) and Innovationsstarter Fonds Hamburg (IFH).
The funding will be used to develop a second product version, to be certified for use in potentially explosive gas atmospheres, but also to strengthen direct sales in Germany and build an international distribution network.
IFH is part of Hamburgische Investitions- und Förderbank and aims to support Hamburg's R&D-focused startups with its €12m fund. It provides between €500,000-1m per business.
Company
Founded in November 2014 as a spinout of the Hamburg University of Technology, Bentekk develops selective measurement technologies for the determination of contaminants on-site. In January 2016, the business entered the market with its X-PID product, selling and renting instruments to industrial companies.
