SHS invests in Tyromotion
SHS Gesellschaft für Beteiligungsmanagement has invested in Austrian robotics business Tyromotion.
SHS said in a statement its decision to invest was based on the quality of the company's product and its existing multinational distribution network. Tyromotion hopes to accelerate its expansion with the fresh capital.
Austria Wirtschaftsservice (AWS) also provided growth capital for the deal. SHS entered a collaboration with AWS in 2015 and also opened an office in Linz recently, which is led by partner Friedrich Baldinger. The measures are supposed to open a path for the VC to make more investments in the country.
SHS invested via its fourth fund, which closed on €125m in May 2015. It is the vehicle's first investment in Austria, following three in Switzerland and two in Germany.
Company
Founded in 2007 and based in Graz, Tyromotion develops robotics and sensor-based aids for patient rehabilitation, focusing especially on stroke patients. The therapy aids are available for the treatment of hands, arms and torso. The business has sold 1,000 products to 300 clinics so far.
