First funding round for CheckMyBus
CheckMyBus, a German meta search engine for inter-city buses, has raised a seven-digit round from Howzat Partners and others investors.
Luxembourg-based Howzat backed the startup alongside business angels Cornelius Boersch, the founder of Swiss company builder Mountain Partners, and Bernd Dietel, who founded Berlin-based logistics startup Packator, alongside the business's founders.
CheckMyBus stated the funding will be used to grow the number of bus connections on offer and to expand into new countries. It claims the $70bn bus market processes 90% of all booking offline, and hopes to benefit from the ongoing transition towards online sales.
Company
Founded in 2013 and based in Nuremberg, CheckMyBus is a bus ticket search engine that shows schedules and prices for 50 countries. It claims to give users access to 300 bus operators and millions of weekly departures.
