OEP's Duran acquires Kimble Chase
Duran, a German portfolio company of One Equity Partners (OEP), has acquired American laboratory glass producer Kimble Chase Life Science and Research Products.
Duran made the acquisition to increase its global presence, as well as improve its services and customer offerings in the US.
US-based OEP also operates an office in Frankfurt. Its last acquisition on the continent was Bibliotheca, a Swiss circulation management catering for libraries, in October 2015.
Previous funding
OEP acquired Duran in December 2014 from Adcuram. The seller acquired Duran from Schott in 2005 as part of a corporate carve-out.
Company
Founded in 1911 and based in Rockwood, Kimble Chase is a producer of laboratory and scientific glassware, specialising in reusable, disposable and speciality glassware for the pharmaceutical, environmental, petrochemical, life sciences, education and chromatography markets.
The business has 760 employees and five sites on three continents.
