Innovationsstarterfonds, HTGF in second round for Cloudplan
German venture capital firms Innovationsstarterfonds Hamburg and High-Tech Gründerfonds (HTGF) have both invested in a second round of an undisclosed amount for Hamburg-based data storage company Cloudplan.
Innovationsstarterfonds Hamburg is a €12m vehicle backed by the city of Hamburg and the European Regional Development Fund equally. HTGF will draw capital from its €301.5m vehicle High-Tech Gründerfonds II. They were joined in the round by seven private investors.
Cloudplan will use the extra funding to roll out its product internationally, initially focusing on North America and Europe.
Previous funding
HTGF led a six-digit seed round for the company in September 2015. Business angel Marcus Opitz also took part through his company OP Advisory.

Cloudplan is a data storage business based in Hamburg. The company was founded in 2014 by Frank Brügman and Matthias Krueger – the concept is based on integrating cloud network storage systems without the need for specialist IT expertise in-house.
