Speedinvest backs Bikemap
CEE-focused tech investor Speedinvest has led a seven-figure funding round for Vienna-based cycle route app Bikemap.
Though press reports suggested a figure of €700,000 was invested, Speedinvest's press release describes the investment as a seven-digit sum. Business angels and private investors also contributed to the round.
With the new investment, Bikemap will attempt to accelerate its growth through further internationalisation. The app will be available in eight languages by spring 2017 in order to specifically target the Chinese market, among others.
Company
Founded in 2007 in Vienna, Bikemap develops software that allows cyclists to create and share routes via a mobile app. The service now has more than 800,000 users in 100 different countries creating an average of 1,500 routes every day.
