Partech, Serena and Airbus in $2m round for BestMile
Partech Ventures, Serena Capital and Airbus Ventures have taken part in a €2m funding round for autonomous vehicle software developer BestMile.
The new funding will be used on sales and marketing resources to aid international expansion across Europe and the US. The company is simultaneously announcing the appointment of a new chief technology officer, Zhao Lu, previously of IBM and various Silicon Valley startups including Easy Taxi.
Reza Malekzaden and Jean-Baptiste Dumont, of Partech Ventures and Serena Capital respectively, will join the board of directors after the transaction.
Previous funding
In June 2016, unnamed business angels invested in a $3.5m seed round for BestMile.
Company
BestMile was founded in 2014 and is headquartered in Lausanne and San Francisco. The company develops a fleet management software platform for autonomous vehicles. It has partnered with Postbus, Switzerland's largest public transportation provider, as well as Local Motors, Trapeze and Gomentum for testing of its platform in vehicles.
