
EQT's Getec acquires Urbana
EQT-backed energy provider and energy efficiency company Getec Wärme & Effizient (Getec) has bolted on Hamburg-based energy provider company Urbana.
With the acquisition, Getec Wärme & Effizienz will expand its presence in northern Germany's energy-providing and energy-efficiency utility sector. The value of the acquisition was not disclosed.
EQT invested in Getec from its recently closed EQT Infrastructure III fund and gained 60% ownership of the company.

Founded in 1963, Urbana is a Hamburg-based energy services provider focusing mainly on the real estate sector. The company supports approximately 100,000 apartments and 600 municipal and commercial properties with around 1,150 heating plants. The company generates €65m in revenues.
