
DII sells Carus to Getinge
Deutsche Industrie Invest (DII) has sold its majority stake in German medical software developer Carus to Swedish medical technology group Getinge.
This ends a 12-year holding period for the GP, which originally purchased a majority stake in the company in 2005. At the time of the acquisition, the company employed 200 people and generated annual revenues of €55m.
Further financial details have not been disclosed but DII typically acquires stakes of 75-100% in companies with revenues of €15-200m, according to its website.
The acquisition will enable the international expansion of hospital information system myMedis. It will be integrated into Getinge's existing product portfolio in the coming months.

Carus is based in Norderstedt and was founded in 1994 by former CEO Karl-Heinz Witt. It develops software for the healthcare sector, including hospital record storage systems and quality management software for drug development. It employs 30 people and forecasts sales of SEK 20m for 2017.
