Startup300 in €1.5m round for Techbold
Startup300 has taken part in a €1.5m funding round for Vienna-based computer hardware and IT services company Techbold.
The VC firm drew capital from its first institutional fund, Capital300, which held a first close on €20m in June 2017.
The round is being led by Austrian entrepreneurs Leo Willert and Andreas Rockenbauer, with Compass group also participating. It also has a crowdfunding element worth €700,000 raised through the Conda platform, backed by 400 crowd investors.
Izdebski and other members of the management team will retain a 66.5% stake in the company after the latest round.
Techbold will use the funding to expand the team and focus on developing operations particularly in the backup and security services branch of the business. It forecasts turnover of €10m for 2017.
Previous funding
In Q3 2015, business angels Michael Altrichter, Hansi Hansmann and Stefan Kalteis helped founder Damian Izdebski to incorporate the company and close the first seed round.

Founded in 2015 and based in Vienna, Techbold supplies small and medium-sized enterprises with computer hardware, software and network services. Its main market is companies with between 10-100 computers. It employs 30 people and forecasts revenues of €10m for 2017.
