US VC firms invest $7m in Breadwallet
A consortium of mostly US-based VC firms have invested in a $7m funding round for Swiss bitcoin management software developer Breadwallet.
DAS Capital, East Ventures, Globe Advisors, Liberty City Ventures, Maffin, Okwave and Saison Ventures have all invested in the round.
Simultaneously, the company announced the establishment of its headquarters in Switzerland.
Breadwallet's CEO Adam Traidman said that Switzerland's conservative financial legislation made it a "hotbed of digital currency".
Company
Founded in 2015 and based in Switzerland, Breadwallet develops a software application of the same name for the management of bitcoin. It has customers in 150 countries, with roughly one third located in the US. The company was co-founded by software developer Aaron Voisine and Silicon Valley VC Adam Traidman.
