3i-backed Atesteo buys Straesser
3i Group has supported the acquisition of drivetrain testing specialist Straesser by the GP's portfolio company Atesteo.
Straesser will continue to operate under its own name within the Atesteo group and Rolf Strässer will remain managing partner.
Atesteo reported a €14m EBITDA from an €80m turnover when 3i first acquired the company in September 2013. 3i's website claims that the business has recorded a double-digit compound annual growth rate, and its EBITDA has almost doubled since its original investment.
3i bought Atesteo (then GIF) in a €100m MBO in 2013, with the equity valued at €77m.
The acquisition of Straesser expands Atesteo's offering in the road trials segment and opens up significant growth potential, according to a statement.
Company
Straesser is headquartered in Kernen and employs 280 people. It offers drivetrain testing on proving and testing grounds as well as public roads. Its client base includes auto manufacturers as well as suppliers and engineering service providers.
