Equistone-backed Apogee buys Kopiervertrieb Rhein-Ruhr
Equistone portfolio company Apogee has acquired German print service provider Kopiervertrieb Rhein-Ruhr (KRR) for an undisclosed sum.
This is the fifth acquisition the company has made since Equistone's original investment in September 2016.
It is also the second acquisition Apogee has made in Germany after the acquisition of BAS Burosysteme in Hanover. However, this transaction was completed prior to Equistone's involvement.
The deal is expected to strengthen Apogee's presence in western Germany, as KRR has secured a number of nationwide commercial and public-sector clients in the region.
Previous funding
Equistone acquired Apogee in September 2016, in a deal that valued the company at £185m.
It then acquired Scottish competitor Direct Business Systems in a bolt-on acquisition in October 2016, and Irish business Hibernian Business Equipment in November 2016.
In the first half of 2017, Apogee made further acquisitions by buying London-based Citydocs and Lincoln-based Danwood.
Company
KRR was founded in 2012 and is headquartered in Oberhausen. The company maintains printing devices and networks. Additionally, it provides digital scanning and document hosting services. It projects revenues of more than €4m for 2017.
