Consortium backs €40m round for Ada Health
A consortium of tech investors and early-stage VC firms has backed a €40m funding round for Berlin-based mobile healthcare application Ada Health.
Cumberland VC, the June Fund and Access Industries all took part in the round alongside the entrepreneurs behind Amazon's Alexa, and Google chief business officer Philipp Schindler.
The fresh capital will be used to open a new office in the US and expand the team of engineers, scientists and medical advisers.
The company is also planning to roll out the application in additional languages after the recent launch of a German version.
Company
Ada launched in 2016 and is headquartered in Berlin. It has additional operations in London and New York and its product is used in 130 countries.
Ada's application collects information on people's illnesses and ailments and suggests possible causes. It then gives possible courses of action for self-treatment or seeking out professional help. It claims to have been used by 1.5 million people since its launch.
