DBAG partially exits Cleanpart Group
Deutsche Beteiligungs AG (DBAG) has sold the healthcare division of its portfolio company Cleanpart Group to hospital services provider Vamed for an undisclosed sum.
Cleanpart Healthcare generates 20% of the group's revenues, which are less than €100m, according to a source close to the situation.
DBAG acquired Cleanpart Group in 2015, at which time it reported revenues of €42m, 75% of which came from the semiconductor industry and the remaining 25% from the biomedical, photovoltaic and automotive sectors.
The healthcare business has improved in the last two years, broadening its service portfolio and tripling its revenues, according to a statement.
Acquirer Vamed generated a €69m EBIT from €1.1bn in revenues in 2016 and employs 17,373 people.
Previous funding
DBAG acquired Cleanpart Group in March 2015, drawing capital from its €700m buyout fund DBAG Fund VI, which held a final close in August 2012. The GP also made a co-investment from its balance sheet, acquiring a 13% stake for €12.5m.
Company
Cleanpart Healthcare prepares reusable medical products for hospitals as an external service provider. It cleans and sterilises mechanical instruments as well as carrying out manual repair and maintenance work.
