
Bayern Kapital in €7m funding round for Fineway
Bayern Kapital has taken part in a €7m funding round for travel planning and booking platform Fineway.
Corporate venture capital firms Mairdumont Ventures and Axel Springer also took part in the round alongside unnamed family offices.
The fresh capital will be used to further develop the software that powers a chat bot at the core of the company's service.
Previous funding
Bayern Kapital led a $2.5m seed round for Fineway in October 2015. Mairdumont also took part alongside private investors.
Company
Fineway was founded in 2015 and is headquartered in Munich. It uses a chat bot to interact with customers and suggest travel plans and booking options. It claims to cut trip research time down from more than nine hours to just a few minutes. It currently employs 45 people, including artificial intelligence and data engineering experts.
