
General Catalyst leads $28m series-C for Contentful
US-based VC firm General Catalyst has led a $28m series-C funding round for content management platform Contentful.
Existing investors Benchmark Capital, Balderton Capital and Point Nine Capital have also taken part in the round.
The fresh capital will be used for further product development and to add an extra 50 people to the company's staff of 140.
Previous funding
Contentful has now raised around $45m in four rounds of financing.
Balderton first backed the company in August 2012, acquiring a minority stake for an undisclosed sum. The VC backed a second round of funding alongside Point Nine Capital in June 2013.
Point Nine and Balderton both returned to the company's €11.63m third round in May 2016, alongside Benchmark Capital and Trinity Venture Capital.
