Perpetual Ventures leads €12m series-A for Horizn Studios
Perpetual Ventures has led a €12m series-A funding round for Berlin-based smart luggage company Horizn Studios.
Existing investors Project A, Vorwerk Ventures, Monkfish Equity, U-start and other private investors also took part in the round.
The fresh capital will be used for product development and international expansion.
Previous funding
Project A led Horizn's seed round in April 2016, investing $3.4m along with Vorwerk and other private investors. It also led the company's $6m series-A in December that year, again with investment from Vorwerk as well as new investors U-Start and Monkfish.
Company
Horizn was founded by Jan Roosen and Stefan Holwe in 2015. It designs and sells smart luggage, which comes with a GPS tracker and smartphone application, as well as USB ports and an integrated battery for charging devices. The company is headquartered in Berlin and employs approximately 50 people.
