VC firms back $11m round for Homebell
Corporate venturing arm SevenVentures has led an $11m funding round for Berlin-based home renovation booking platform Homebell, with participation from VC firms.
Helvetia Group, Index Ventures, Lakestar and Global Founders Capital all took part, as well as Axa Deutschland and Kompass Digital.
The fresh capital will be used to expand operations in Germany and the Netherlands, and invest in the development of a new planning tool.
Previous funding
Index and Lakestar invested in Homebell's seed round in April 2016, alongside a consortium of business angels.
Company
Homebell was founded by Felix Swoboda and Sascha Weiler in October 2015. The company develops and administers an online platform for booking renovation works with builders and craftsmen. The user uploads a detailed plan that enables the application to give a fixed quote remotely and then allocates contractors to the job. The company is based in Berlin and has 2,200 partner craftsmen across the DACH region, Belgium and the Netherlands.
