SwanCap holds final close on €433m
SwanCap Partners has held a final close on €433m for its latest fund-of-funds, SwanCap Opportunities Fund III, surpassing its €400m target.
The vehicle is registered in Luxembourg as Private Equity Opportunities Fund III and uses an SCS structure.
Its strategy is to invest in both North American and European private equity via a combination of primary fund investments, direct co-investments and selected secondaries. It is already 50% deployed across 20 transactions.
For the raise, the GP worked with placement agent Unicredito Banca Mobiliare, an Italian branch of Unicredit.
Its previous vehicle, SwanCap Opportunities Fund II, held a final close on €600m in December 2014.
SwanCap is headquartered in Munich and has additional operations in New York, Luxembourg and Milan.
Investors
The LP base of the new fund includes institutional investors, public and corporate pension funds, insurance companies, endowments, foundations and large family offices.
Its previous fund was backed by Ardian's fund-of-funds programme, according to Unquote Data.
Investments
SwanCap offers its LPs exposure to the buyout market in Europe and North America through three different strategies: primary fund investments, direct co-investments and direct secondaries. The 20 transactions it has made so far cover all three strategies.
