CGS invests in Innolas Solutions
Swiss buy-and-build specialist CGS has acquired industrial laser technology business Innolas Solutions as the first step in a new buy-and-build strategy.
The GP said it plans to transform the company into a global player in the sector using add-on acquisitions, as well as expanding its existing plant in Krailing, Germany.
Current owner Richard Grundmüller and the management team, led by CEO Markus Nicht, will both acquire minority stakes in the new business.
CGS is approaching a final close for its fourth buyout fund after holding an interim close above its CHF 200m target in March.
Innolas will be the third platform investment from the new fund, which will make five to seven in total.
Company
Founded in 1995, Innolas designs and produces laser machines and processing systems for use in the photovoltaic, electronics, semiconductor and precision engineering industries. It has customers in Europe, the US and Asia, and employs 80 people.
