
BWK-backed IT-Informatik buys Mercoline
BWK Unternehmensbeteiligungsgesellschaft has supported the bolt-on of enterprise software provider Mercoline for its portfolio company IT-Informatik.
Mercoline previously operated as a subsidiary of Pelikan Group, a Berlin-based office supplies company. Pelikan is pursuing a corporate strategy of divesting divisions that are non-core to its writing instruments and stationery business.
IT-Informatik is aiming to increase its technical capability and geographical presence through the acquisition. The bolt-on will also increase the group's revenues by around 10%; IT-Informatik generated revenues of €40m in 2017.
