
Capiton sells EMS Schwanenmühle
Capiton has sold its stake in German electrical component manufacturer EMS Elektro Metall Schwanenmühle to an unnamed Luxembourg-based family office.
The sale ended a holding period of almost six years for Capiton, which acquired the business with capital from its fourth buyout fund.
Capiton closed its fourth fund on €350m in November 2009 and is currently investing from its fifth fund, which hit its €440m hard-cap in January 2015. Capiton V has now made six investments and the GP is understood to be gearing up to launch Capiton VI with a €600m target in late 2018.
Under Capiton's ownership revenues have remained fairly stable, increasing from €57m in 2012 to €60m in 2017, and the number of employees has declined from 250 to 220.

EMS Schwanenmühle was founded in 2000 and is headquartered in Schwanenmühle near Horbach in Rhineland-Palatinate. The company produces and sells components for high-voltage industrial applications such as electricity generation. It has production facilities in Germany and Poland.
