
VR Equitypartner acquires APZ Auto-Pflege-Zentrum
VR Equitypartner has acquired a majority stake in Darmstadt-headquartered auto services business APZ Auto-Pflege-Zentrum from TÜV SÜD, a Munich-based business that provides car inspection and product certification services.
The company will use the funding to target new markets, primarily in the automotive paint work segment, and to further expand in Austria.
APZ managing directors Peter Hirner and Peter Klingenmeier will acquire the remaining shares.

Founded in 2011 and headquartered in Darmstadt, APZ is an automotive repair and inspection service. It has 300 customers comprising car dealers, manufacturer-owned branches and original equipment manufacturers, in Germany, Austria and Luxembourg.
The company posted a turnover of around €50m and employs a staff of 110 employees. Along with its partner centres in Austria and Luxembourg, it employs a staff of around 1,300.
