KKR's SoftwareOne buys Comparex
SoftwareOne, a Swiss portfolio company of Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co (KKR), has wholly acquired German IT services business Comparex from Austrian group Raiffeisen Informatik.
KKR acquired a 25% stake in SoftwareOne in 2015 via KKR Europe Fund IV, a €3.3bn buyout fund focusing on European mid- and large-cap companies. There was no fresh equity drawn for the latest acquisition.
The combined group will employ 5,500 people in 200 locations across 88 countries. Comparex accounts for 2,500 of these and 80 of the locations, and it generated revenues of €2.5bn last year.

Comparex is a global IT service, headquartered in Leipzig. The company was founded in 1990 and provides hosting and cloud platform services to clients in 36 countries.
