Brockhaus buys Palas
Brockhaus Capital Management has acquired a majority stake in particle measurement specialist Palas.
CEO Maximilian Weiß, who is also a minority shareholder, will continue to hold a significant minority stake in the firm and manage it as CEO.
Brockhaus said in a statement that the transaction represents another milestone towards its planned IPO.
The buyout fund manager announced its eschewal of the closed-ended fund model in October last year, choosing instead to raise capital of up to €150m for investment holding company Brockhaus Capital Management, which would eventually be listed.
Company
Palas makes electronic devices for measuring and characterising particles in the air. The company develops fine dust and nanoparticle measurement devices, aerosol spectrometers and other sensors, as well as associated systems and software for a range of industries.
Its clients include BASF, Siemens, BMW and Bayer. The business is headquartered in Karlsruhe, was founded in 1983 and employs 70 people.
