
Odewald buys Giata
German buyout firm Odewald has acquired a majority stake in travel technology company Giata alongside its founders.
The investment was made by Odewald’s KMU division, which focuses on smaller buyouts; it invests between €5-30m of equity in companies with sales of up to €100m. Odewald KMU II held a final close on €200m in November 2015.
US-based listed technology company Sabre previously held a minority stake in Giata, which it sold to Odewald.

Giata was founded in 1996 and is headquartered in Berlin. It provides a catalogue of hotels and tour operators to its customers in the travel industry. The company generates turnover between €25-50m, according to publicly available documents.
