Odewald acquires Artus
Odewald KMU has acquired a majority stake in restoration services provider Artus.
The founding shareholders of Artus have reinvested in the company, and shareholder and managing director Josef Bölle will continue to manage it. Ingo Ites has been appointed managing director and has also invested in the company.
The investment has been drawn from the firm's Odewald KMU II fund, which closed on €200m in 2015. The fund invests in companies that have been founded within the last 10-30 years and generate sales of up to €100m. The fund writes equity tickets of €5-20m.
Following the transaction, the company plans to expand its regional presence both organically and through acquisitions.
Company
Based in Langenhagen, Artus Gesellschaft für Brand-und Wasserschadensanierung and Artus Projekt are the two entities that make up Artus. Founded in 2012, the company provides fire, water and other elemental damage restoration services primarily to insurance companies and their customers. It employs approximately 100 people in its headquarters and seven other branches.
