
VCs in $16.5m series-B for Bestmile
Blue Lagoon Capital and Translink Capital have led a $16.5m series-B funding round for mobility platform Bestmile.
Existing investors Road Ventures, Partech, Groupe ADP, Airbus Ventures and Serena Capital also invested.
As part of the transaction, Blue Lagoon partner Kevin Reid has joined Bestmile's board, with partner Rodney Rogers joining as board chairman.
Previous funding
In 2016, Dallas-based venture capital firm Perot Jain, along with other private investors, participated in a $3.5m seed funding round for the company.
Later that year, the Foundation for Technological Innovation provided CHF 500,000 in debt financing to the company.
Partech and Serena led a €2m seed round for Bestmile in 2017, in order to fund its expansion into the US.
A consortium of VCs backed an $11m series-A funding round in March 2018. The round was led by Road Ventures, with participation from Partech, Airbus Ventures, Serena, MobilityFund and ADP. Serena invested in the round through its Data Ventures fund.
Company
Bestmile offers a fleet orchestration platform that can be used to manage both autonomous and traditional vehicles. The platform offers travel apps, dashboards, customer relationship management systems, payment services and infrastructure. Founded in 2014 and based in Lausanne and San Francisco, the company employs around 60 people, according to LinkedIn.
