
Thayer, ZKB lead $45m series-B for Beekeeper
Thayer Ventures and Zurcher Kantonalbank (ZKB) have co-led a $45m series-B funding round for remote working mobile communication app Beekeeper.
Existing investors Atomico, Alpana Ventures, Edenred Capital Partners, Fyrfly Venture Partners, Hammer Team, Investiere, HighSage Ventures, Keen Venture Partners, Samsung Next, Swiss Post, and Swisscom all participated in the round.
ZKB is currently investing from its Swisscanto PE Switzerland Growth I fund, which held a first close on €150m in December 2018.
San Francisco-based Thayer is currently investing from its Quest Hospitality Ventures Fund II, which closed in 2012.
The fresh capital will be used to meet demand for the company's software.
Previous funding
In 2016, Fyrfly, Polytech and B-to-V joined forces to provide Beekeeper with €4.4m in seed funding.
In 2017, Keen Venture led a consortium of investors to provide $8m in a series-A for the company, with participation from Fyrfly, Polytech Ecosystem Ventures and B-to-V.
Atomico and Keen Venture led a $13m series-A extension for Beekeeper in 2018. Also participating were new investors Samsung Next, Edenred Capital Partners and Swiss Post, as well as all existing investors.

Founded in 2012, the company offers an operational communications platform for remote workforces. The software integrates multiple channels in one secure hub that is accessible from both desktop and mobile devices. Headquartered in Zurich, the company employs around 190 people, according to LinkedIn.
