VR Equitypartner-backed Kälte Eckert acquires Günther Kältetechnik
Kälte Eckert, a portfolio company of VR Equitypartner, has acquired a majority stake in Günther Kältetechnik.
The acquisition is the first in the GP's buy-and-build strategy for Kälte Eckert.
Kälte Eckert plans to increase its growth, expand its service network and increase its headcount via the add-on.
Günther Kältetechnik's managing director and former sole shareholder, Jörg Günther, will remain in his position on the company's board.
VR Equitypartner acquired a majority stake in Kälte Eckert in August 2017 for an undisclosed amount. Michael and Holger Eckert remained co-CEOs of the company after the investment and maintained a significant stake.

Günther Kältetechnik is based in Plüderhausen and was founded in 1965 by Horst Günther. It provides cooling system products and services, with a focus on the catering and food industries.
The company had total assets of more than €1.2m and a headcount of 17 in 2017, according to Northdata.
