
DN Capital et al. lead €5.5m series-A for Cognigy
DN Capital, Nordic Makers and Belgian venture capital investor Inventures have led a €5.5m series-A for Cognigy, a Düsseldorf-based business automation software platform.
Cognigy plans to use the investment to expand into the US, and to build a US-based sales and marketing team.
UK-based VC DN Capital participated in the €10m round for German automated job-search platform Joblift in August 2019. The firm is currently investing from GVC IV, which held a final close in December 2017 on €200m.
Nordic Makers was founded by a group of entrepreneurs and typically invests $500,000-2m in early-stage rounds.
Previous funding
Cognigy held a seed funding round of €1-9m in November 2017. Participants in the round included Digital Incubation and Growth and business angel Bjarne Hansen.
Company
Cognigy produces software intended to automate conversational business processes including HR, e-commerce, IT helpdesks and customer services. Its clients include Lufthansa, Bosch and Henkel.
The company is based in Düsseldorf and has an additional office in San Francisco. It has a headcount of 33, according to LinkedIn.
