
Sapphire Ventures leads $30m series-C for Adverity
Sapphire Ventures has led a $30m series-C round for Austria-based marketing software company Adverity.
Also participating in the round were existing investors Felix Capital, Mangrove Capital Partners, Sap.IO, and AWS Gründerfonds.
The company plans to use the fresh capital to expand its team via new hires in the areas of technology and commercial, as well as to back continuing research and development.
Sapphire Ventures held a final close for its fourth fund in December 2019 on $1.4bn. The fund targets expansion and late-stage investments in companies in Europe, the US and Israel.
The round for Adverity is set to be the second-largest for an Austria-based company so far this year, according to Unquote Data. In March 2020, Insight Venture Partners and EVenture Capital Partners led a €30m round for construction software company Planradar.
Previous funding
Speedinvest, AWS Gründerfonds and 42Cap backed Adverity in a seed round in July 2017.
The same investors backed a €3.2m series-A for the company in April 2018, which was led by new investor Mangrove Capital Partners.
In April 2019, Felix led a $12.4m funding round for Adverity, with participation from Mangrove, SpeedInvest, 42Cap and AWS. Sapphire and Sap.IO also joined the round as new investors.

Founded in 2014, Adverity is a marketing analytics platform that allows users to collect advertising, retail, social and website data from sources ranging from web-tracking tools to TV audience metering systems. Its software platform analyses this data and produces engagement metrics and growth patterns. The company's client base includes media, marketing and e-commerce companies, including names such as Scout24, Red Bull and Coty, according to its website.
Based in Vienna, the company employs 131 staff, according to LinkedIn. It also has offices in New York and London.
