VR Equitypartner-backed Kälte Eckert buys Gartner Keil & Co
Kälte Eckert, a portfolio company of VR Equitypartner, has acquired Germany-based market peer Gartner Keil & Co from managing director and former sole shareholder Frank Keil.
Keil will continue to have an operative role within the business.
The GP plans to develop synergies between the companies, including their geographical service network, personnel, and industry knowledge, according to a statement. The GP deployed additional equity to finance the acquisition.
VR Equitypartner bought a majority stake in cooling systems and cold storage business Kälte Eckert in August 2017. Gartner Kiel & Co is the second in the GP's buy-and-build strategy, following the acquisition of Günther Kältetechnik in November 2019.
Company
Gartner Kiel & Co produces cooling and air conditioning systems, as well as equipment for cold and deep-freeze storage. The systems are used in offices, computer rooms, laboratories, hotels, law firms and doctors' offices.
