Atomico leads €16m round for Arculus
Atomico has led a €16m round for industrial software and robotics company Arculus, alongside participation from Visionaries Club.
Existing investor La Famiglia also took part in the round.
Arculus plans to use the fresh capital to develop its product further and to expand its customer base in preparation for its international expansion and product launch. Atomico partner Siraj Khaliq will join the company's board.
Atomico held a final close for its latest fund, Atomico V, in February 2020. The fund closed on $820m and commits up to $15m in series-A funding rounds.
Previous funding
The company has previously received grants from the German government, but held its seed round in March 2019, backed by La Famiglia.
Company
Arculus provides a modular production platform that aims to disrupt the traditional manufacturing assembly line setup based on linear conveyor belts, with a focus on the automotive industry. The company's AI-based software and robotics technology is based on a grid of production modules and it claims that this model can boost productivity by 30% and reduce space needs by 20%.
Arculus is headquartered in Ingolstadt and also has offices in Dresden and Stuttgart. Founded in 2016, the company has 23 employees, according to LinkedIn.
