Capiton-backed CymbiQ Group buys Aspectra

Aspectra will continue to operate as a separate entity and under its current branding, according to a statement. CEO Kaspar Geiser and head of sales and marketing Norbert Benz will continue to manage the company.

Capiton bought a majority stake in cybersecurity business Ispin in March 2018, deploying equity via Capiton V, which held a final close in January 2015 on €440m. The GP planned to use the company as a platform to pursue a buy-and-build strategy in the cybersecurity service sector.

In July 2018, Ispin, then rebranded as CymbiQ, acquired Anovis IT-Services und Trading. In May 2019, the company bolted on software engineering company Koch IT.

Aspectra provides outsourced IT security services including web application firewalls and cloud workload protection. Its clients include financial services businesses, insurers and e-commerce businesses, as well as public and healthcare organisations. Founded in 2000, Aspectra is based in Zürich and has 41 employees.
