
Energize Ventures backs $10m Beekeeper series-B extension
Energize Ventures has led a $10m series-B extension for Switzerland-based Beekeeper, a software company that develops communications systems for remote employees.
The round also saw participation from Züricher Kantonalbank, Investiere, Thayer Ventures, HighSage Ventures, Swisscom, Alpana Ventures and Swiss Post.
Beekeeper aims to use the fresh capital to support its international expansion and product development.
Previous funding
In 2016, Fyrfly Venture Partners, Polytech and BtoV backed a €4.4m seed funding round for Beekeeper.
In 2017, Keen Venture Partners led a $8m in a series-A round for the company, with participation from existing investors Fyrfly, Polytech and BtoV.
Atomico and Keen Venture led a $13m series-A extension for Beekeeper in 2018, joined by new investors Samsung Next, Edenred Capital Partners and Swiss Post. The company's existing investors also participated.
The first part of Beekeeper's series-B round took place in September 2019, when Thayer Ventures and Zürcher Kantonalbank led a $45m series-B funding round for Beekeeper. Atomico, Alpana, Edenred, Fyrfly, Hammer Team, Investiere, HighSage, Keen Venture, Samsung Next, Swiss Post and Swisscom all participated in the round.
In February 2020, Energize Ventures invested $5m in Beekeeper. The company's series-B round has now raised a total of $60m.

Beekeeper is a software platform that allows employers to communicate with remote workforces. Its clients include Domino's, Heathrow Airport and Hilton, according to its website. Founded in 2012 and based in Zürich, Beekeeper also has offices in Berlin, Krakow and Oakland, California. The company has 250 employees, according to LinkedIn.
