Warburg Pincus invests in Infoniqa
Warburg Pincus has invested in Austria-based HR software provider Infoniqa, with the company's previous majority owner, Elvaston Capital, and management also investing in the business.
Warburg Pincus invested via its Global Growth Fund, which held a final close in November 2019 on $14.8bn and was 23% deployed as of June 2020, according to Unquote Data. The vehicle writes equity tickets of $50-500m and has so far made four platform investments in Europe, including UK-based Community Fibre.
Warburg Pincus plans to support the GP's organic growth, and assist with acquisitions in the DACH region and elsewhere in Europe. The deal is not currently leveraged.
Germany-based Elvaston first invested in Infoniqa in July 2018 via its third fund. Cornerstone Capital sold its minority stake in the business to Elvaston, having first invested in 2012. During Elvaston's investment period, Infoniqa has made one add-on: it acquired payroll software company Haveldata in 2019.
Previous funding
Infoniqa, previously known as SQL, was originally sold in 2007 to Vienna-based Infoniqa Holding, which was majority owned by German Capital Partners.
Coenerstone acquired a majority stake in Infoniqa in November 2012. The GP sold its majority stake to Infoniqa's chairman and CEO in a management buy-back in July 2017. During the investment period, Infoniqa's revenues increased from CHF 24m to CHF 42m and it made two bolt-ons.
Company
Infoniqa provides human capital management software for use in corporate HR departments. It also provides payroll outsourcing, consulting and training services. Founded in 1988, the firm currently serves 3,500 businesses and has 10 DACH region offices, with its headquarters in Wels, Austria.
