
S-UBG buys minority stakes in Thermoglas, Glas Trienes
S-UBG has acquired minority stakes in Germany-based glass producers Thermoglas Niederrhein and Glas Trienes as part of a management buy-in.
Mathias Schlatt will acquire the remaining stakes in the businesses and will join as managing director of both.
S-UBG expects to see growth in the company via the potential expansion of its sales network to cover international markets.
S-UBG makes private equity investments of up to €6m from its balance sheet, targeting Mittelstand companies in Aachen, Krefeld and Mönchengladbach. The firm regularly makes co-investments. The firm also makes venture capital investments via its Seed Fonds strategy.

Thermoglas Niederrhein and Glas Trienes were founded in 1976 and 1954 respectively. Both companies are based in Kempen and employ around 200 people in total. The businesses produce a range of glass products for use in the construction industry, including insulating glass for soundproofing and sun protection.
