Auctus buys majority stake in nursing home chain Mirabelle
Auctus has acquired a majority stake in nursing home operator Mirabelle Holding, founding the new structure alongside Mirabelle Care, Thomas Zethin of Deutsche Senioren Residenzen (DSR) and Sander van Adelberg.
Van Adelberg has previous experience as head of M&A at care home chain Alloheim, which was acquired by Nordic Capital in 2017.
According to a statement, the group is to be developed into a care provider operating nursing homes across Germany.
Mirabelle has signed lease agreements for six care homes in Magdeburg, Bad Harzburg, Meiningen, Kassel, Eisenach and Leuna, according to a statement. The homes will be opened in the next two and a half years, beginning with the Magdeburg site in 2021. Mirabelle is currently in negotiations to open further care homes, according to the same statement.
Auctus is deploying equity via its fifth fund, which held a final close in October 2019 on €250m. The GP invests in businesses with revnues of €10-150m and operating profit of at least €2m.
Auctus has previously invested in the nursing home sector: it acquired Procon in 2007, which it sold to Alloheim (then a Carlyle portfolio company) in November 2014.
