DBAG's Ding Gruppe bolts on Bergert Gruppe
Deutsche Infrastruktur und Netzgesellschaft (Ding Gruppe), a portfolio company of Deutsche Beteligungs AG (DBAG), has acquired broadband network construction company Bergert Gruppe.
Ding now has 1,000 employees and generates revenues of more than €200m. It reported revenues of €18m in 2019 and employed 90 staff, according to DBAG's website.
The company has made nine add-ons in the past two years, according to a statement. The company bought network construction companies Leinberger Bau, ISKA and IMD in 2019.
DBAG invested in STG Braunsberg in September 2019, making an equity investment of €23.1m to acquire a majority stake of 84.4% in the company. The GP invested via DBAG Expansion Capital Fund II, which raised €85m in 2017. The company was subsequently renamed Ding Gruppe.

Founded in 1998 by Daniel Bergert and headquartered in Wechselburg, Bergert provides construction and infrastructure services, focusing on underground pipe and cable construction for broadband networks. The group is composed of Bergert Hoch- und Tiefbau, BD Solution Network and BD Koblenzer Tief- und Straßenbau. The business serves infrastructure and telecommunications companies. Bergert posted revenues of more than €25m in 2020 and employs 230 people.
