
Hannover Finanz buys majority stake in Dental Direkt
Hannover Finanz has acquired a majority stake of 64% in Germany-based dental laboratory supplier Dental Direkt as part of a succession solution.
Founder Gerhard de Boer will retain a significant stake in the business and will transition from his role as managing director to an advisory board member at a later date. Directors Marcel Brüggert and Marvin Kühme will invest in the company as part of the company's new ownership structure.
The GP said in a statement that it intends to support the company to enhance its position in its national and international markets.
Recent investments in the dental sector in the DACH region cover both dental technology and dental practice chains. They include PlusDental, which is backed by GPs including HV Capital and Cadence Growth Capital, as well as Ergon Capital Partners' acquisition of dental practice chain Fair Doctors.

Founded in 1997, Dental Direkt produces supplies for dental laboratories, including implant components and milling blanks. The company supplies dental laboratories in more than 60 countries. It expects to post revenues of €30m in 2021 and employs 100 staff, according to a statement. Dental Direkt is headquartered in Spenge in North Rhine-Westphalia, and has an additional technology centre in St Annen in Lower Saxony.
